Live: LIVE - Coronavirus: incidence exceeds alert threshold in Sarthe
After the start of the first massive screening campaigns, “ it takes at least three weeks to see a decrease in the evolution of the incidence of positive cases. And from four weeks on, we can really see a drop in the evolution of the incidence, ”said Stephan Domingo, regional director of Pays de la Loire, drawing on the example of the neighboring department of Mayenne. .
In Sarthe, the incidence rate of Covid-19 " exceeds 70 cases per 100,000 inhabitants " while the positivity rate for tests reached 4.7% (against 3.3% nationally), according to him. " Today, we are at 60 contaminations per day, where at the beginning of July we were at three contaminations on average per day in Sarthe ", underlined Mr. Domingo.
He indicated that " in 6 cases out of 10 ", people " who activate the circulation of the virus " were asymptomatic, aged under 45 years and that they did not respect barrier gestures. " If we do not interrupt the chains of contamination, these people will inevitably contaminate fragile people ," said the regional director of the ARS.
