A 33-year-old recently had to answer in court. The Eurasburger had consumed cannabis and cocaine and drove to a fast food restaurant by car.

Eurasburg / Wolfratshausen - The two police officers had the right nose: the driver of a VW Polo, which they subjected to an inspection at Eurasburg on April 23 last year, was sitting behind the steering wheel, droned on. A blood test showed that the man's tremors and agility during the check-up were due to the use of cannabis and cocaine. On the same day, police found around 120 grams of hashish and marijuana in the 33-year-old's apartment. Now the Eurasburger has been sentenced by the lay judge at the Wolfratshausen district court to a prison term of 17 months. The execution was suspended for three years.

The defendant had his lawyer explain that he admitted both allegations. At the end of 2010, the Eurasburger had already been sentenced to a suspended sentence of one and a half years for acquiring narcotics and possession of prohibited weapons. In 2014 the sentence was waived. Defense attorney Peter J. Guttmann explained that his client has been drug-free since that conviction. That changed when, at the end of November, beginning of December 2018, his long-time girlfriend separated from him. New Year's Eve 2018 came the relapse: "He celebrated properly, even with cocaine," said the lawyer. In the period that followed, the accused “repeatedly consumed weed and hashish”. "After work, every day," added the defendant. Until the moment the police checked him on the way to McDonalds.

Since then, he has tried to get rid of drugs. “Stupidity and perhaps jitters before the trial” led to another brief relapse last spring. Since then he has been clean, which was proven by two negative drug tests.

The lay judge, chaired by Judge Helmut Berger, sentenced the installer to 17 months' imprisonment and a three-month suspension of his driver's license. It followed the application of the defense, the public prosecutor had requested three months more imprisonment and five months more driving license. As a condition, the court imposed a fine of 2000 euros on the convicted person at the Bad Tölz mountain rescue service, a ban on drug consumption and counseling sessions with Caritas to discuss any therapy plan that might be required. "I am glad that it is over now and will remain good in the future," promised the defendant. He accepted the verdict.  rst
