The Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida approved a plan to vaccinate 55,000 seedlings of apples and pears with marketable varieties.
In a statement to the SANA Economic Bulletin, the head of the plant production department in the directorate, Eng. Akram Sarayuddin, said that the plan, which will be implemented early next week, includes vaccinating seedlings to improve their production specifications and distributing them to farmers during the coming periods.
Eng. Sarayuddin pointed out that the directorate recently completed the vaccination operations of about 82,000 seedlings of almonds, peaches, cherries, apricots and pistachios, with marketing desirable varieties, and is currently working on the proliferation of twenty thousand olive seedlings.
And the Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida, during the last agricultural season, provided more than 120,000 seedlings of fruit trees.
