Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed today that the United States is doing everything it can to avoid binding itself to any international obligations, in light of the recent actions of the US administration against a number of countries.
Sputnik quoted Lavrov as saying during a television interview today that the recent measures of the current US administration show that Washington is doing everything so as not to bind itself to any multilateral commitments, pointing out that the sanctions imposed by Washington on several international bodies "prove this."
And US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said recently that Washington is preparing to prevent Russia and China from making any attempts to violate the sanctions imposed on Iran, pointing out that “Washington is disappointed that its allies have not supported its efforts to re-impose the United Nations sanctions that include the arms embargo.” What President Donald Trump's administration has described as a violation by Tehran of the nuclear deal it concluded in 2015 with world powers.
