Martinez returned to professional boxing this Friday after being retired for six years. The return was with victory against the Spanish José Miguel Fandiño, whom he defeated by technical knockout in the seventh round on the Malecón de Torrelavega, in Cantabria.
With 45 years, the born in Quilmes warned that his eyes are already set on a next fight that could take place before the end of the year.
“I can't be training for training and boxing for boxing. There is a plan and that is what mobilizes me. I am on the right track. I always bet on myself, but today I am infinitely a better boxer than when I was world champion, ”says Maravilla.
And he explains: “Why am I so much better than before? Because before I had a brutal, wild physical state, it was incredible. It was all work, that paid dearly because I did not know how to manage myself well in combat, I had plenty of cloth. Today, with 10% of what I used to do, I can achieve 100%.
