According to "Bild am Sonntag" there are reports of engine manipulation at Porsche too. The company has already started its own investigations.
Stuttgart (dpa) - According to a report by "Bild am Sonntag", the sports car maker Porsche is investigating possible internal manipulations of hardware and software on some vehicle models.
According to the report, after the official approval by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) there were inadmissible changes to exhaust systems and engine components. Porsche itself reported the suspicion. The KBA has confirmed that there are, among other things, "on-site investigations".
Porsche said it had discovered "issues" during internal audits and reported them to the authorities in Germany and in the USA itself. "These topics relate to specific hardware and software components that were used in typing measurements. In individual cases, there may also be deviations from the series status," it said in a statement.
Only vehicles that were developed a few years ago and none from ongoing production are affected. "Porsche is currently investigating the matter and is in close coordination with the authorities," it said.
