Many had come from Kochel or one of its districts, but also some from the surrounding towns. Carina Winkler even came from Garmisch to support the Kochler people in their demonstration, because: "We need a transregional traffic turnaround ."

Bea Bittner came with her family from neighboring Schlehdorf . "We are just bothered by the overall situation," she said. Her job is in Kochel, but for the few kilometers from place to place she sometimes needs an hour on the weekends because the excursion traffic jams for kilometers. Then there is the enormous amount of waste . Every day on her walk with the dog at the lake, she collects the rubbish that the day trippers left behind. But now the community Schlehdorf has forbidden to walk the dog on certain bank areas. "Because the tourists feel disturbed", complains Bittner and criticizes: "Actually, we locals should have priority over the tourists."

“Is slowed down” demo in Kochel am See: the Bund Naturschutz also received heavy criticism

Strong criticism of the current situation also came from the Federal Nature Conservation Union . Local spokesman Friedl Krönauer gave plans for additional parking spaces at Walchensee a harsh rejection. They would only bring more traffic. Rather, barriers are needed - for example on the riverside road - so that only as many day trippers can come as nature and residents postpone. Until those seeking relaxation destroy nature: "We can't wait that long."
