Bulgarian Minister of Youth and Sports Krassen Kralev has been infected with the coronavirus, his ministry announced on Sunday 23 August. “Krassen Kralev took a positive PCR test while he was on vacation and has not had recent contact with his collaborators. He has mild symptoms ”and was placed in quarantine, the ministry said in a press release.
He is the first member of the Bulgarian government to be infected with the coronavirus.
Confirmed cases of coronavirus infection number 15,227 in the country of 7 million people, which has recorded 545 deaths.
Difficulties have arisen in several provincial hospitals which lack qualified staff. In the small town of Dulovo, northeast, healthcare workers this week refused to treat Covid-19 patients after the death of a patient.
