Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro confirmed today that his country will not surrender to the plans of the American administration to overthrow the Venezuelan government in cooperation with Colombia.
"The US administration, with the support of Colombia, continues to draw up plans to assassinate me, despite our frustration of previous attempts over recent years," Telesur quoted Maduro as saying, noting that the plans of "extremists who rule both countries have failed before."
He added, “This decision was taken a long time ago and the target of the April 30, 2019 coup was my kidnapping,” recalling the drone attack and the assassination attempt on August 4, 2018.
Maduro referred to the statements of the United States ’Special Representative for Venezuela, Elliott Abrams, before Congress that they would“ destroy ”the Venezuelan government before next December, and said:“ When the word of elimination comes from a hawk from the US administration with a criminal record like Elliot Abrams, it cannot be considered a game. It is a plan and they have only one goal in Venezuela, which is to eliminate the leadership that I represent. ”
Last month, Maduro called on the governments of the United States, Mexico and Colombia to provide explanations about their involvement in a plot by the CIA against his country.
