Suspicion of rape in Eilat: Seven other boys were detained for questioning

Seven other boys were detained this morning (Sunday) for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the 16-year-old's rape at the Red Sea Hotel in Eilat. The seven were transferred for further investigation by the special investigation team in the Lachish area.
Four people have been arrested so far on suspicion of involvement in the girl's rape. While the investigation continues, the police will today ask to extend the detention of three of them - two boys from the south and a young man from Hadera. The latter is known to the police, and was recently released from a one-year prison sentence for property offenses, with some of the cases still pending. The detention of the fourth suspect, also a young man from Hadera, was extended last week by five days.

More arrests are expected. The Red Sea Hotel in EilatSources involved in the details of the investigation said last night that a double-digit number of suspects were involved in the rape. According to the same sources, the security camera videos will lead to more arrests soon.
