    Thousands of women from across the country sat down today (Sunday) from work at 12:00, in protest of the violence perpetrated against women. This is against the background of the 16-year-old rape in Eilat. The protest, entitled "Women's strike - women and girls are not no man's land", was organized by a private group of women, and so far it has been joined by dozens of bodies and companies in Israel such as Tel Aviv, IAI and Pelephone, who called on their employees to stop working for half an hour or more.

    As part of the struggle, demonstrations will take place in the evening in dozens of cities and intersections throughout the country, with the main one taking place in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv at 20:00. Simultaneously with the shutdowns and demonstrations, several bodies will hold seminars and lectures on violence against women, some of which will be streamed on the Facebook page of the Women's Lobby in Tel Aviv.

    According to Moran Zer Katzenstein, the initiator of the women's protest, "the time has come to say enough. And if they do not stop, we will stop. Violence against women across sectors, right and left, is violence that can no longer be tolerated. I call on you, women and men of Israel, to stop. "Demonstrate, make your voice heard."

    Another body that has expressed support for the struggle is the Open University. The educational center called on its students to arrive at the campus plaza at 12:00 in red shirts, signs and masks, and to conduct the demonstration subject to Ministry of Health guidelines.
