A southwesterly airstream is affecting the coast of South China and the northern part of the South China Sea. At 5 o'clock in the morning, Typhoon Bavi gathered about 510 kilometers south of Jeju and is expected to move north-northwest at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour across the East China Sea and continue to strengthen.

Weather Overview: The weather in Hong Kong today was generally fine with a few showers; it was hot during the day. The highest temperature in the urban area was about 32 degrees, and it was another one or two degrees higher in the New Territories. The southwesterly wind is blowing, and the offshore wind is refreshing.

Observatory outlook: From later Wednesday to Thursday, the initial rain was sometimes heavy and there were squally thunderstorms; the weather improved and it was hot in the next one or two days.
