President Alberto Fernández ratified this Monday during an act the alleged content of a private conversation he had with Mauricio Macri, in which his predecessor recommended not to quarantine and that "those who have to die" die.

"When there some people recommended that the economy not slow down and that society not stop, that those who have to fall fall, that those who have to fall fall ill and that those who have to die die, I I preferred, as we all prefer, to preserve the lives of the people, the health of Argentines, "he said.

During the event, the Head of State also compared the current economic situation with that of the Macri government: "When I look at the results of the economy and I see that the real wage, of course, fell in the pandemic, but it fell by half of the previous year when without pandemic they governed as they governed, "he emphasized.

On Monday, the president led the inauguration ceremony of the renovated Villa Rosa Station, located in the Buenos Aires province of Pilar, where he announced a series of railway infrastructure works for other towns in that jurisdiction, official sources reported.

Fernández also maintained that "with all these works, what you see is that the Argentine economy began to move. The economic and industrial activity in Argentina is today above the levels of March."

When many told us that the economy was not starting, that public works were not moving, well, look, this is one of the 40 new train stations that we will have throughout Greater Buenos Aires.

During the event, which began at 5 p.m., Fonplata agreements were signed between the Ministry of the Interior and the municipalities of Pilar and Tres de Febrero to implement protection and assistance policies for the health and social emergency caused by the spread of Covid-19.

Fonplata, previously known as the Financial Fund for the Development of the Countries of the Plata Basin, is a subregional development bank made up of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, whose actions aim to collaborate with the integration of the member countries to through the financing of small and medium-sized projects.

Fernández was accompanied by the Ministers of Transport, Mario Meoni, and of the Interior, Eduardo "Wado" de Pedro; the Governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof; the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa; and the mayors of Pilar, Federico Achával, and of Tres de Febrero, Diego Valenzuela.
