The string of fires and attacks on agricultural producers and the absence of those responsible generated a strong reaction from the countryside. With accusations and signals from political leaders in the context in which these crimes occur, Confederaciones Rurales Argentinas (CRA) issued a harsh statement in which it demanded measures from the Government to prevent new episodes.

"The legislative projects to condemn the facts of agricultural vandalism continue to be delayed pending the resolution of an agenda that seems only doomed to resolve the urgencies of a judicial reform tailored to the power of the day. Strange confusion of roles: sovereign citizens become in subjects of a capriciously authoritarian vice-presidential power that has found in the health crisis the perfect pretext to ruthlessly advance on individual liberties and attack republican institutions in a desperate attempt to guarantee their impunity ", states the statement.

Published on its official website, Confederaciones Rurales Argentinas also stresses that "all the real emergencies, poverty, insecurity, economic crisis, inflation, fiscal deficit and a long etcetera must wait. Legal cases are pressing and the search for impunity cannot be postponed" .

"Lightning never strikes the same place twice, an artist sings. Witches do not exist, but there are ... there are, the most suggestible proclaim. Coincidences do not exist either. However, strikingly, a field seems that it can be burned twice in the same place in less than three months. It is neither magic nor witchcraft. "

In this way, the CRA statement began, which was written after the second fire in just three months that occurred in the field of the vice president of the entity, Gabriel de Raedemaeker , located in the Cordovan town of Oliva.

"Lack of apprehension, laziness, lack of education or simple ignorance. Nobody would think of throwing a lit cigarette between the sheets of the conjugal bed or into a fuel tank. But it seems that yes on the dirty and neglected shoulder of a route, from the window of a vehicle, next to a field. No one seems to care about the damages that food producers may suffer, "said CRA.

" The National Government does nothing to claim the value that agricultural productive activity has for the country and society as a whole. It is only interested in asphyxiating it and squeezing it fiscally to obtain genuine resources that the State is incapable of generating, but effective and accurate at the time of its systematic and rude waste, "he warned.

De Raedemaeker has already suffered two fires in his field in three months. The first was on May 26, when they intentionally burned 30 hectares of corn and 5 hectares of wheat.

The fire started on the side of National Route 9.

And this Saturday the same area burned again, but this time the fire started on the side of National Route 9. As the stubble was already burned, it was like a kind of backfire that caused the flames not to spread beyond the countryside.

According to the entity, the repeated attacks on silobolsas and the intentional fires that agricultural producers in Argentina have been suffering must be added "accidental oversights" that cause considerable economic and environmental damage, damages that nobody is responsible for.

"The legislative projects to condemn the acts of agricultural vandalism continue to be delayed, pending the resolution of an agenda that seems only doomed to resolve the urgencies of a judicial reform proposed to the measure of the power in power," he said.

Lastly, CRA mentioned the Agroindustrial Plan carried out by the Argentine Agroindustrial Council. "The increase in exports and the generation of new jobs are trumpeted, music to the distracted ears of circumstantial recipients of empty tribune speeches, but nothing is said about how to protect the primary producer, a fundamental link on which all the rest of the agroindustrial chain ", he remarked.

"Sooner rather than later, all sectors, public and private, should sit down to seriously discuss a model of a sustainable and inclusive country, with no room for corrupt or opportunists," the rural entity closed.
