In three years: the proportion of students eligible for matriculation in Israel is almost unchanged
Data from the Ministry of Education show that between the years 2007 and 2007, eligibility for a matriculation certificate increased by only 1.5%. The rate of those entitled to a matriculation certificate has cumulatively increased between the 2007/07 and 2009-2010 school years by only 1.5%, according to data from the Ministry of Education this evening (Monday). According to the "educational picture" of the upper division for the 2009-2010 school year, the percentage of eligibility among 12th grade students was 69.9% compared to 69.7% a year earlier.
The national eligibility rate remains close to 70%, which is 80,095 out of 114,979 students in matriculation institutions. In the Bedouin sector, there was a 4% decrease in the number of those entitled to a matriculation certificate, while in the ultra-Orthodox sector there was an increase of 1.9%.
