WASHINGTON.— If President Donald Trump wins re-election, his administration will continue its agenda of putting the United States "first" with economic suffocation measures against undocumented immigrants and the "end of sanctuary cities."

Although loaded with nationalist populism, Trump's agenda also makes no mention of immigration reform or modernization of the legal visa system, which the Trump administration had endorsed in previous years.

Instead, the document highlights the following six points:

1. Prohibit undocumented immigrants from receiving welfare services, health care, and free tuition in universities.

2. Mandatory deportation of non-citizen gang members.

3. Dismantling of human trafficking networks.

4. The end of "sanctuary cities" - those that refuse to cooperate with immigration agents - to "restore our neighborhoods and protect our families."

5. Prohibit US companies from replacing US citizens with foreign workers at lower wages.

6. Demand that new immigrants be able to support themselves financially, without government aid.

On August 5, the Fourth Circuit of Appeals reversed the ruling of another federal court that preliminarily blocked the implementation of a new regulation on "public charge", with which the Administration intends to deny permanent residence to foreigners who have received public subsidies, or plan to do so in the future.

Once he accepts the presidential nomination next Thursday, Trump plans to release more details about his agenda in various speeches and visits to key states in the race, according to his campaign.

Other items on Trump's agenda

Thus, the agenda emphasizes new tax cuts and tax credits for companies that manufacture products in the US; the development of a coronavirus vaccine by the end of this year and "a return to normalcy in 2021," and the negotiation of new "fair" trade agreements.

In foreign policy, the document omits Latin America but does resume its war against China , which it blames for the spread of the coronavirus and the loss of manufacturing jobs in this country.

In the health area, the document promises a cut in the prices of medicines and in the costs of insurance; coverage of pre-existing diseases, and "first-class" health services for veterans, among other elements.

The Trump agenda again promises to "drain the swamp" in Washington - that is, to purge the political "establishment" - through restrictions on the terms of congressmen and a fight against international organizations that "harm American citizens."

On a Sunday show on NBC, a senior Trump campaign adviser, Jason Miller, said the Republican convention will have an "upbeat and encouraging" tone, highlighting both the accomplishments of the past four years and the "vision." Trump for a second term.
