The Republican Party convention opened tonight (Monday) and officially elected President Donald Trump as its candidate for the US presidential election in November. Trump came for an unplanned visit to the conference, which is being held on a limited basis in Charlotte, North Carolina, due to the Corona epidemic.

Trump, who is trying to avoid being the first incumbent president since George W.
