The number of foreign workers is about 2,500, in accordance with the government's decision to open the institutional nursing industry for the first time since the establishment of the state, and against the background of the ongoing shortage in the industry, which currently stands at 6,000 workers.
Employees will be required to know Russian or English on the assumption that they will learn Hebrew while working. This emerges from meetings held by the management of the ABA (Association of Nursing Homes) headed by Roni Ozeri with the Ministries of Health, Welfare and the Population Authority.
