'Chucky' Lozano receives vote of confidence from Gattuso

The 'Chucky' Lozano would not leave Napoli for the following season. The Mexican received the confidence  of his coach Gennaro Gattuso for the winger to remain one more year in the Neapolitan team. After a series of rumors, which indicated that the Mexican would leave the team, 'Rino' hopes that the former PSV player will improve in his second season in Serie A.

At a press conference Gattuso spoke about the current situation of 'Chucky'. "I am confident that Lozano can do more things than he did last season, " said the Napoli coach. The Mexican is integrated into the preseason work that the team began last Monday, August 24 and that will conclude on September 4, since Series A is scheduled to start in the middle of that month.

For his part, Napoli's sports director, Cristiano Giuntoli , considers that Hirving Lozano could occupy the space that José María Callejón will leave , who in the coming days could make his departure from the club official.

"Callejón was unique, he did all the wing and the defensive phase, he gave him balance. In my opinion, Rino has shown that he knows how to use players in that place who have recently been doing very well like Politano and Lozano. We have good players in home, to which we use less and therefore prove to be less valuable "he pointed out.

Finally,  Aurelio De Laurentiis , president of Napoli, revealed that the team does not plan to make many sales after the economic crisis that unleashed the pandemic.

Lozano's season with Napoli

The 'Chucky' came to Napoli with great expectations after his time in Dutch football with PSV. However, the Mexican was left to duty and with the arrival of Gattuso to the bench he lost prominence in the team. Among all the competitions he played 43 games in which he scored five goals.
