Mauricio Macri's first official act at the FIFA Foundation

The FIFA Foundation, chaired by the Argentine Mauricio Macri, and the company UPL, a multinational group of Indian capitals, signed an agreement to promote development and education through football. The FIFA Foundation and UPL Ltd. on Tuesday announced a new memorandum of collaboration in which the two organizations commit to promoting the development of sustainable agriculture and education through football and to carry out awareness campaigns.

This new agreement between the FIFA Foundation and UPL was signed in a ceremony attended by senior officials at the FIFA Museum in Zurich. The event was attended by Gianni Infantino (FIFA President and Chairman of the Board of the FIFA Foundation), Mauricio Macri (Executive President of the FIFA Foundation), Youri Djorkaeff (the former French midfielder who was world champion in 1998, who is the Executive Director of the FIFA Foundation), Fatma Samoura (FIFA Secretary General) , Jai Shroff (UPL CEO) and Diego Lopez Casanello (UPL COO).

This is the first formal act of the former president of Argentina in his new position in the body that manages world football. In January, Macri was unexpectedly announced as head of the FIFA Foundation, a position he achieved mainly because of his close ties with the head of the governing body of world football, Gianni Infantino. And in May he announced the organization of a party to raise funds to help the fight against the coronavirus that is still to be seen.

Thanks to this memorandum of agreement, the two organizations -FIFA and UPL- will join forces so that football serves as a platform for raising awareness about various social and environmental issues, such as the benefits for society of sustainable development, protection of the environment environment, the education of young people and the fact of leading a healthy and active lifestyle.

In particular, UPL will collaborate with the FIFA Foundation's "Football for Schools" Program , which is intended to encourage participation in children's football through didactic and dynamic sessions focused on developing life skills and promoting positive values ​​through this sport. In addition, UPL will coordinate access to the FIFA "Football for Schools" Program in more than 30 schools in rural areas of Brazil and will be in contact with local authorities in key markets.

UPL and the FIFA Foundation will cooperate to support the goals of sustainable development and environmental protection with a ten-year program aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions and rewarding small farmers in developing markets who are committed to sustainable methods.

UPL is a multinational group of Indian capitals dedicated to the development and commercialization of products for the protection of crops and seeds. It deals with improving agricultural performance and seeks to generate more and better food.
