NBA star LeBron James on police violence: "We black people are afraid"

After the shooting at a black man during a police operation in the US state of Wisconsin, basketball superstar LeBron James sharply criticized the conditions in the USA - and admitted fear.

New York, Los Angeles, Washington: Protests against police violence and racism flare up again in the US. Cause: Seven shots by a police officer in the back of an unarmed African American in the US state of Wisconsin. Now basketball star LeBron James expressed himself with clear words: 

LeBron James, professional basketball player

"We black people are afraid in the US. Black men, black women, black children, we are afraid because you never know."

The background to this is this video spread across the Internet: Jacob Blake, 29 years old, goes to his car. A policeman aims at his back. Seven shots can be heard. In the car: Blake's three sons. Their ages: three, five and eight. The 29-year-old father is now in the intensive care unit. His condition is critical.

"If you sit here and tell me that there was no way you could overpower this gentleman (Jacob Blake) or arrest him right before the guns were fired, then you're sitting here lying to not just me, but every African American and every black man ".

LeBron James had led his Los Angeles Lakers to a comfortable win in the NBA playoffs against the Portland Trail Blazers. His comment: 

LeBron James, professional basketball player 

"I can't even enjoy a playoff win right now - that's sad."
