We are already "used" to waking up in the mornings with protest demonstrations against Prime Minister Netanyahu, exhibits that the Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality is in no hurry to evacuate. Today, a slightly different exhibit was discovered there, blaming the entire government.
Those walking around the square discovered a "business cemetery" this morning, as a sign of protest for the economic conduct of businesses during the Corona period and further to the ongoing cry of business owners for assistance from the state. Those behind the show are the "Centers for Social Justice."
"Elected officials are completely disconnected. While tens of thousands of Israelis are crying out for real aid and solutions to the economic situation, they are preoccupied with political survival and petty quarrels day and night," says Zohar (Izzy) Carmon, director of the Centers for Social Justice.
"Business owners are paying for the government's negligent and disrespectful conduct in losing their livelihood. The installation is designed to illustrate the sad reality we all feel on the street - more and more businesses are closing, more and more buried factories, more and more people do not see horizons and futures in Israel. "Inventing the wheel, other countries have managed to provide a safety net and bring solutions to distress. All it takes is to approve a budget, put your hand in your pocket and prevent tens of thousands from being pushed into unemployment. As long as they continue to play roulette on our lives, this cemetery will expand."
The municipality has not yet vacated the exhibit.
