" Even if the majority of holidaymakers have already returned to prepare for the start of the new school year, traffic flows will still be significant on the main transit routes for this last weekend of August and congestion is expected ", warns the organization in a press release. Saturday will be the day when traffic will be the heaviest, especially on the main south-eastern axes, on the A7 and A9 motorways.
The rest of the weekend (Friday and Sunday) is classified orange in the sense of returns at the national level. In the direction of departures, traffic should be fluid with a weekend classified green throughout France, with the exception of Île-de-France, classified orange on Friday and which Bison Futé recommends to avoid after 2:00 p.m.
With economic activity resuming a more sustained pace, the organization expects indeed at the end of the week for the return of " recurring congestion " near large cities and recommends avoiding their surroundings during peak hours, between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. .
