The Sudanese Civil Defense announced today that torrents and monsoon floods have killed 86 people and destroyed more than 32,000 homes in Sudan since last July.
In a statement carried by Agence France-Presse, the Civil Defense said in a statement today that 44 people were injured in the floods, while 3,2059 homes and 143 public facilities were destroyed, adding that the states most affected are North Darfur, South Kordofan, the Red Sea, Kassala, Jazira and Khartoum.
Usually heavy rains cause floods in Sudan between June and October, as heavy rains in 2019 caused damage to about 400,000 people.
