The Hang Seng Technology Index will track individual stocks in sectors including the Internet, e-commerce, local life services, financial technology, and cloud computing, including market-focused ATMMX (Alibaba, Tencent, Meituan, and Xiaomi), which account for 33.49% of all revenues.
Huasheng Securities CEO Zhang Ting told "Hong Kong 01" that more than 80% of investors currently participating in Hong Kong stock trading will participate in the transactions of large Internet companies. He continued that for investors, ETF investment is a long-term and stable investment strategy.
Asked about the development trend of the Hang Seng Technology Index, Zhang Ting took a positive attitude and believed that many Internet companies would go to Hong Kong for secondary listing from the United States. These companies are already very mature in the United States and will be included in the Hang Seng Technology Index.
In addition, market news indicates that Hang Seng Asset Management and China Asset Management are actively preparing to launch the Hang Seng Technology Index ETF, but there is no news about when to disclose the relevant products.
