At the beginning of last week, the outline of the open sky came into force, under which all returnees from green countries can enter the country without the need for isolation. The list of green countries currently includes about twenty countries, but only three of them allow the entry of Israeli tourists. Now, following the success of the Greek outline, other countries are positively considering allowing Israelis to enter on similar outlines.

Bulgaria and Croatia give admission to a corona test to be performed in Israel before take-off, but in Greece they allowed entry to a corona test in Israel, a corona test in Greece and a wait at the hotel until the answers are received. The more significant restriction in Greece is that only 600 Israeli tourists can vacation in the country at any given time.

Now that they have understood in Greece that the outline is successful, they have decided to allow another five days, September 1, to double the number of Israelis who will enter the country and thus, 1,200 Israeli tourists will be able to vacation in Greece at any given time. Ahead of the Tishrei holidays, if the outline continues to prove itself, the Greeks are expected to increase the number of Israelis who can enter the country and thus quite a few Israelis are expected to spend the holidays in the neighboring country while Israel talks about closure.

The new agreement with the Greeks also states that although Israelis can only fly to four destinations, which are Crete, Corfu, Athens and Thessaloniki, traffic within Greece will be free and from those destinations Israeli tourists will be able to continue to any destination they want in the country. It is important to note that the testing process is still valid and every Israeli who flies to Greece will have to perform a corona test in Israel, upon landing in Greece and wait at the hotel, for up to 48 hours to receive the test results.

As stated, following the success of the Greek outline, other countries are positively considering allowing Israelis to enter on similar outlines. Currently, contacts are being made with several countries, including countries that Israelis will be very happy to travel to. Those same countries saw the success against Greece and most likely, if they were opened to Israelis, the method would be similar. Check in the country, check in the destination country and travel freely in the country.

Among the countries with which contacts are being made are Italy, Georgia and Cyprus. Foreign Ministry teams are also working with other countries. The list of green and red countries is updated every two weeks. On September 1, the new Greek outline will take effect, and about two weeks later, the list will be updated again, probably with other countries.

At the same time, the Foreign Ministry is working to allow Israeli businessmen to visit green countries that do not accept Israeli tourists. Here, too, Italy is on the list alongside other countries. Those Israeli businessmen will have to receive an order from a source in the destination country, go through a testing process and thus be able to enter the country with the Israeli passport. It is important to note that as early as next week, the corona tests performed before the flight will go to the private labs and will not be free. Hospitals will charge several hundred shekels for Corona tests performed on pilots, for Israir customers the tests will be for only $ 50 and prices are expected to fall as competition increases.
