A third night of riots following the shooting of a black man earlier this week • Gun battles between gunmen led to dire consequences • Protesters looted and robbed stores
Third night of riots in Wisconsin: One person was killed and several others injured by gunfire, when one of them was fatally wounded, on another night of protests that took place on the streets of Wisconsin town of Knusha following the shooting in the back of Jacob Blake, the black man shot earlier this week by police. This was reported by the Reuters news agency.

Various videos posted on social media reveal the huge wave of violence that is plaguing the place, with groups of rioters looting shops and vandalizing property, and on the other hand there are armed civilians roaming the streets in order to protect their homes and surrounding businesses. The great tension and great rage among the residents who roam the streets armed, led to serious shooting incidents in the middle of the city streets and to the seriously injured.

Blake's family members made a statement last night at a news conference, referring, among other things, to Jacob's medical condition after the shooting, and to the fact that he will likely remain disabled for the rest of his life. The lawyer representing the family in the case said Blake had to undergo emergency surgery and that it would be a "miracle" if he could go again.
Julia Jackson, Blake's mother, referred to the violent riots and looting that took place after the peaceful demonstrations that followed the shooting of her son. "While I was passing through this city, I noticed a lot of damage," Blake's mother said, emphasizing that "it does not reflect my son or my family. If Jacob had known what was going on to the point of violence and destruction, he would have been very unhappy."

It seems that after a third night of peace and order riots are still far from returning to Kanusha streets, even though National Guard forces have been deployed throughout the city. Various reports suggest that the governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, has signed an order that effectively doubles the presence of National Guard personnel in the city from 125 to 250. There are reports that the governor was offered additional assistance from another 500 National Guard personnel in order to help restore order and prevent vandalism, but he refused.
