Every movie that Mario Casas shoots leaves a physical, mental or spiritual imprint on him. He himself confessed so with surprising sincerity in his cover interview for Icon this month. But apart from those war wounds invisible to the naked eye, the actor has a fetish of tattooing a symbol for each character he plays.
In this video, Casas comments on some of them, from those who cause him shame (a tribal that was made as a teenager, because anyone born in the 80's must live to regret a tribal) to those who arouse fun among his friends (the of Instinct ) or those that are too private to show them (which was made by Palm trees in the snow during the filming of which began a relationship with her costar Berta Vázquez). The actor had no qualms about giving us a guided tour of his tattoos with the same availability with which he posed for the photographer all the time it took, he worried that everyone was at ease during the report and he answered every question with an effort to provide a speech with substance.
Mario Casas has been forging a complex and risky career and these tattoos make it clear to what extent he is proud of it. His goal is to grow old with his entire body full of memories and, for now, the last one is a wheelchair in honor of his sinister character from The Practitioner (forthcoming on Netflix). The other thing that matters most to him, his family, is also commemorated on his shoulder with a smiley face. Because as much as his characters are characterized by suffering, by making others suffer and by subjecting his body to physical agonies, when the filming ends Mario Casas has plenty of reasons to smile.
