She spent 11 years in jail for a crime that she did not commit, she was acquitted and now they found her dead in her home in Misiones

After 11 years imprisoned for a crime she did not commit, Cristina Vázquez (37) had left jail at the end of last year. It was on December 28 and, after 24 hours in freedom, she said she felt "happy". This Wednesday, after eight months of a new life, the news of her death shocked everyone.

Cristina's body was found in her home in Misiones. They investigate the circumstances of her death.

Life had not been easy for Cristina. Without evidence, she had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a pensioner in Misiones, although it was never known what the murder weapon was, she was baptized "The Queen of the Hammer."

Cristina Vázquez, at her home in Posadas, Misiones, already released after spending 11 years in prison.

But it was the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, on December 26, who finally put things in their place: it acquitted her. Lucía Cecilia Rojas (37), the other young woman accused of the murder, suffered the same fate.

Cristina and Lucía had been convicted along with Ricardo Omar “Kolyno” Jara (39) for the murder of Ersélida Dávalos (79). The retiree was killed  by a blow to the head during a robbery at her home in Posadas on July 28, 2001.
