Extensive alert in the states of Louisiana and Texas in the US ahead of the arrival of the shore of the powerful hurricane Laura, which is intensifying in recent hours without interruption and is now at a power of four out of five, a force capable of wreaking extensive destruction poses a real risk to human life.

In light of this forecast, the general alert has been raised and the hurricane is currently defined as life-threatening. The traffic lane of the storm is home to about 20 million people and preparations for its arrival on the coast are being made very feverishly. Media outlets in both countries reported that the next few hours could be critical to public preparedness and authorities for the arrival of the storm.

Currently the rate of advance of the Eye of the Storm is 24 kilometers per hour, with the storm winds of 190 km / h. The hurricane is expected to hit the beaches during the next day, throughout Wednesday night and Thursday when the winds and stormy sea will raise the waves to four meters. Will endanger many coastal cities in the two U.S. states bordering the northern part of the Gulf of Mexico.

Already yesterday, authorities began evacuating about half a million residents from both states with most of the evacuees being from the coastal city of Texas. According to Ed Rapaport, a forecaster at the U.S. Hurricane Center, "the cause of the storm is the heat of the water that amplifies the energy of the storm. The heat of the seawater now is a force multiplier that amplifies the storm." This forecast underlies the huge deployment of authorities fearing sea waves will penetrate right into the mainland and hit many homes located in coastal cities. It therefore also warned of severe flooding opportunities at the door of the Mississippi River and across the state.

Louisiana Gov. John Bell Edwards issued a special statement to his residents urging them to evacuate, saying "this is a strong storm and we may experience flooding and rising water levels in places we did not anticipate." The governor urged residents to take advantage of Wednesday morning hours to vacate relatives or friends away from the beaches until the storm passes. It is important to note that the hurricane arrives right next to the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina that hit U.S. shores in the same area.
