The Australian citizen who murdered 51 people in two mosques in the city of Christchurch in New Zealand was sent tonight (Thursday) to life without pardon, after being convicted of the deadliest attack in the country's history. The judge said the sentence was not enough for the "vicious" crimes committed by 29-year-old Brandon Trent, who supports white racial superiority, which he broadcast live on Facebook.
Trent pleaded guilty to 51 counts of murder, 40 counts of attempted murder and one count of terrorist act. "Your crimes are so vicious that even if you are held for the rest of your life, it will not exhaust the necessary punishment and condemnation," Supreme Court Justice Cameron Mender said. "As far as I can tell, you are empty of empathy for your victims."
