A production company is shooting a pilot episode in Garching for the private broadcaster RTL. More will not be revealed.

Garching - Instead of family vans and cargo bikes, caravans and an ambulance are parked on the parking spaces in front of the entrance of the low-rise Caritas Kindergrippe building in Garching. The reason: It is being shot for a TV production.

"We are producing a pilot episode for a possible series for the private broadcaster RTL," says the hygiene officer on the set. He doesn't want to reveal his name. Everything is still very relaxed. An employee in a neon yellow safety vest guides the passing cars along the set. Suddenly the hygiene officer's radio, which he has hanging around his neck, rustles. Through his mouth and nose mask he says: “All right.” With a wave of his hand he sends the red and white ambulance down the street to the next set. Today, filming takes place around the area around Einsteinstrasse / Maier-Leibnitz-Strasse / Heisenbergstrasse between multi-storey residential buildings. The team is not allowed to reveal when the first episode of the possible series “Emergency Call” will be broadcast.

16 set staff and actors

16 employees and actors are in Garching for the day. The corona rules are strictly observed. "Everyone wears a mask, the minimum distance is observed," explains the hygiene officer. He and the production assistant sit on one of the three beer benches in front of the crèche.

The team chose the city in the north of Munich because it is very centrally located. Not an isolated case, Garching is not the first time a TV production has been set. Already in 2018 you could admire the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum (LRZ) in the Munich crime scene "KI" (we reported). At that time, during the investigation, the inspectors Leitmayr and Batic came across the computer program "Maria", which was equipped with a very high level of artificial intelligence.  lf

From the community: Since the renovation, it has become tight on the Garching bypass road B 471 old. So narrow that drivers often cannot keep the legal distance of 1.50 meters and cyclists are not allowed to overtake. The reactions range from “confusing”, “bike unfriendly” to “extremely dangerous”.
