The firefighters discovered on August 20 the body of the young girl when they intervened to extinguish a fire which had broken out in the attic of a house under construction, unoccupied, in the city center of Nantes. " If the death of the young girl is of criminal origin, the fire found is not the cause, " Olivier Bonhomme, deputy prosecutor of Nantes, told AFP the next day. Two fire starts were noted.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the young girl, who lived about 200 meters away, left her home around 4:00 p.m. to pick up a package. Her mother was worried around 5:00 p.m., not seeing her return. The body was discovered less than an hour later.
