Harburg - A free-roaming peacock has fallen victim to a crime in Swabia . A man shot the ten-year-old bird with a crossbow , known locally as "Pfaui", according to the police.

The investigators were able to solve the crime because the arrowhead hit a sheet metal on a garage roof and got stuck. The police officers were therefore able to trace the trajectory and find out that the bolt had been fired from the apartment of a 23-year-old in Harburg (Donau-Ries district).
