The marriage proposal that went wrong due to the ring being thrown into the sea (INSTGRAM)

Ostensibly this is the most corny marriage proposal there is: a man kneels against the backdrop of the sea and sunset and proposes marriage to his lover when he is surrounded by his best friends. It's only ostensibly, because what happened at the moment of the proposal made it one that will never be forgotten. Miles Wes sailed with his friends Angie Zalsov in Sarasota Bay, Florida when it took her a moment to the doorstep, knelt and raised a hand toward his best man, Roman Gritzak, to throw the box with the ring at him. Roman - who also introduced him to his future bride - pulled out the box and threw it at Miles, only without noticing he threw it too high and the box with the ring fell into the water.

The romantic proposal took a dramatic turn as Angie and her friends were left stunned to see how the ring was thrown into the ocean. Someone is heard yelling at the best man "Are you stupid?" And one of the friends hurries to jump into the water in hopes of returning the luxury engagement ring to its owner. Luckily, the box floated on the water and the friend managed to grab it. The hysteria did not end there, after the friend foolishly decided to open the box in the water to check the condition of the ring only to reveal to those present on the boat that the ring had disappeared and apparently sank in the water.

The video garnered 133,000 views on Miles' account before joining Barstool Sports where it garnered more than 3.8 million views. It was cut off as soon as those present discovered that the ring had disappeared and many on the net wondered what happened to the ring and the failed marriage proposal. There were some who joked that the accident was the universe's way of signaling to Miles not to get married: "This is a sign! Do not do it," one reporter and another added: "Hopefully your marriage will be more stable than this proposal." Others did not understand why his groom and groom thought it was a good idea to throw the ring when the offer was made on the doorstep of the boat. One wrote: "Why would anyone ever throw a ring at someone in front of the boat? It's the groom's wrong decision making." Another added: "What's the problem with putting the ring in your pocket? Who thought this suggestion was a good idea?".

So true, those of you who doubted the credibility of the incident - were right. The box thrown into the water was empty because it was a cruel prank that Miles organized for his future wife. Angie later confirmed on Instagram that it was all a prank by her fiancé and posted the full video on YouTube, in which Miles was seen turning to her best man again to get the real ring from him. So in case you were worried - the mischievous Miles knelt for the second time and this time proposed marriage properly. Angie said "yes".
