The new extension of the quarantine to avoid coronavirus infections had the peculiarity of not having together President Alberto Fernández, the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, and Governor Axel Kicillof, but nevertheless the mayor of the City  returned to highlighting the "coordinated and consensual" work with the national and Buenos Aires governments , and reiterated that it will insist before the Executive Branch to be able to provide face-to-face technological assistance to some 6,000 students.

"Although the format of the announcement of the President (Alberto Fernández) on the prolongation of the isolation has changed, we continue with the same meetings, in a coordinated and consensual work. Yesterday I was meeting with him for more than two hours to agree on what we would say publicly" Rodríguez Larreta said in dialogue with the program "Saturday early" on Miter radio .

However, he clarified that, after this week the national government rejected the protocol to open face-to-face technological and digital cabinets for students in the City, the Buenos Aires government will insist "because we believe that we cannot leave out any link with the school to some 6,000 boys, "he said.

Along these lines, he said that he will do "what is necessary, the meetings that are necessary, including reviewing protocols and modifying them, because we think that we are right in this, and that it is important not to abandon these guys who today do not have any type of contact with the school".

"Even in the things in which we do not have an agreement, such as education, the dialogue with the President and the governor is what we have to continue doing," said the head of the Buenos Aires Executive.

Meanwhile, when asked about the President's statements about seeing the City "so opulent" due to inequality, Larreta said that he did not take that phrase as a criticism. "If there are differences and inequality with the Capital, we must seek that this development reaches all of Argentina, because our idea is to equalize it up," said Larreta.

On the other hand, he was away from the "ultra and fanatical" sectors, both the ruling party and the opposition, and emphasized that he will continue working "with the sectors that seek dialogue."

And he added: " The ultras do not lead us to any good path, the extremes are fanatical and lead us to more fights , and we must look for the actors with whom we can dialogue and agree, and discuss ideas with height."

Asked about the activity abroad of former President Mauricio Macri, he described it as "his personal sphere, his private sphere," and said that he has worked with him "for about 18 years, and we are part of the same space." And she added: "As an opposition, we remain united, and that is the novelty, very positive, of Together for Change, although we may have nuances," she remarked.

Finally, he confirmed that next week restaurants, bars and confectioneries "have to present us a protocol and a sketch of how they would arrange the tables on the sidewalks to serve the public, and we are going to start with those who already had permission to have tables outside" .

He also added that his government has already identified "about 100 places to expand the outdoor area, and gain some lanes in the street and public space in a square " for gastronomic places.

Judicial reform

In turn, the head of the Buenos Aires government again expressed this Saturday his differences with the judicial reform project promoted by the national government, which this week obtained half a sanction in the Senate, and said that "it is not a law to take out with the one-party votes. "

"Now it has already been voted by the Senate, and then there is a new opportunity to reject it in the Deputies, because I am convinced that a judicial reform requires a deeper debate and a broader consensus, I said it publicly, and I support it again" said Rodríguez Larreta.

The government's proposal was approved by 40 affirmative votes of the Frente de Todos and its allies, against 26 negative votes of the opposition bench of Together for Change, which maintained its questions because it considered that the reform "is not a priority" in the midst of the pandemic. In this context, he said that a judicial reform "is a very important decision" and stressed that "it is not a law to be obtained with the votes of a single party."
