Minister Yaakov Litzman continues to exacerbate the remarks against Prof. Roni Gamzo and especially against the possibility of imposing a closure on holidays.
On Friday, he even threatened to resign from the government if a closure was imposed, but his faction members say that is not their position. The newspaper HaModi'a, a newspaper affiliated with Litzman, reported that Litzman informed the prime minister that according to the agreement he had with Minister Deri, they would not allow the cabinet to close during the holidays. According to the report, Torah Judaism will consider retiring from the government if decided. The newspaper also stated that "Minister Litzman clarified to the Prime Minister that the possibility of holding mass demonstrations in Balfour, as opposed to continuing restrictions in synagogues and preventing the arrangement of travel to Uman by restrictions, destroyed public confidence in the system."
• Elkin will draft an outline for flights to Uman
• Minister Litzman threatens: "We will consider resigning from the government if a closure is imposed during the holidays"
• "Preserving the human soul is a supreme value in Judaism"
But among Litzman's party members, his harsh statement is not backed up. Sources in the party told "Israel Today": "We are not threatening to resign from the government, we are not going in that direction, there is still a lot to do." Another source said that "we do not know where Litzman brought it from, there was no consultation with the faction. It is on his own initiative."
Over the past week, Litzman has attacked Prof. Gamzo several times. In a statement, Litzman said that "Prof. Roni Gamzo's letter to the President of Ukraine against the departure of Breslav's followers to Rosh Hashanah is out of place."
During a visit to the city of Tira yesterday, Gamzo was asked about the calls against him to resign. He replied: "I will not resign and I will continue to fight Corona everywhere."
Artist crisis
A video circulated on social media over the weekend shows Uman residents trying to deport the followers who come to the city, for fear of another outbreak of the corona virus.
The mayor of Uman himself published his opposition to the arrival of the Hasidim as early as a few months ago.
