Moscow-Sana

The Russian Khrunichev Center for Space Industries announced that Russian experts are working on developing a third "Angara" heavy space missile.

"Work is underway at the center to develop another heavy space rocket (Angara A5)," Novosti news agency quoted the director general of the center Alexei Varuchko as saying, indicating that the launch of this missile into space is supposed to take place in 2021.

Varuchko added, "Parts of the aforementioned missile will be transported from Omsk to Moscow using trains, and there these parts will be subject to assembly and testing operations, and approximately 6 months later, the missile will be sent to the Plesetsk space base to be prepared for the launch process."

Currently modified Russian Angara space missiles include (Angara 2.1) light missiles, (Angara 2.1) medium missiles and (Angara A5) heavy missiles.

The director of the Russian Cosmos Foundation, Dmitry Rogozin, announced last May that Russia would re-test the modified Angara heavy missiles this fall, indicating that the first launch of these missiles from the Plesetsk space base is supposed to take place on the 3 of next November.
