A Japanese company launched one of the world's first successful test flights of a passenger airliner.
Yesterday, SkyDrive showed a video that showed a strange-shaped machine that resembles a sleek motorbike equipped with propellers pushing off the ground for a distance of between a meter and two in an area surrounded by nets for four minutes.
Tomohiro Fukuzawa, who heads the Sky Drive project, told the Associated Press, "Of the more than 100 flying car projects in the world, only a few people on board have succeeded ... I hope many people want to ride and feel safe," noting that the car can fly. So far, for only five to ten minutes, but if it reaches 30 minutes, then she will have more potential.
Tomohiro expressed his hope that this highly-flying tool would reach the market by 2023, but said that "safety improvements are needed first". Battery sizes, air traffic control and other infrastructure are noteworthy as challenges for flying car innovators.
