Despite the crisis in their relationship, Princes William and Harry teamed up over the weekend to post a joint announcement ahead of the 23rd anniversary of Diana's death, which will take place tomorrow. This is the first time the brothers have done so since Harry and his wife, Duchess Megan Merkel, decided to stop being part of the royal family almost entirely as part of their desire to develop an independent career.

The two brothers issued a statement on Friday setting the date for placing a statue in memory of their mother at Kensington Palace, where she lived and raised them. The date is July 1, 2021, which will mark her 60th birthday.

"Our mother has touched the lives of so many," the brothers said in the joint statement. As you may recall, there has been tension between the two brothers in recent months following the decision of Harry and Megan, who now live in California.

The decision of the two caused a shock in the royal family, and according to some reports also a disconnect between the couples that lasted about two months, but recently it seems that the two brothers are trying to straighten things out. The British media reported over the weekend that Megan and Harry are likely to visit the UK in the spring or summer of 2021, among other things to inaugurate the statue of Diana, who was killed in a car accident in Paris in 1997.
