In Beirut
Since the explosion of 2,750 tons of nitrate which devastated the port of Beirut and its surroundings on August 4, France has been hyperactive on the ground. In cooperation with the Lebanese army, nearly 400 soldiers cleared under a blazing sun about 1000 tons of steel and cement per day around the destroyed grain silos.

" What do you want? Shall I move it? ” Asks a French soldier to a Lebanese customs officer, who sadly contemplates his destroyed office. " It's okay, leave ", he answers in a mixture of French and Arabic before launching, the fist in the air, "long live France !", When asked for a comment on the French intervention.
While the cleaning continues in the port, already partly functional, another stage is being prepared behind the scenes: its reconstruction. The damage is estimated at around a billion dollars. Kuwait has already announced that it wants to rebuild the silos.
Interest in investing in the port remains strong
