2020 will be engraved in the pages of history as the worst year our generation has experienced, but until it is over - we may want to act cautiously when we talk about it. A couple from Massachusetts, who have postponed their wedding four times following the outbreak of the corona virus, barely survived the fifth attempt either. On August 22, in front of 30 guests, Aaron Switsky and his bride, Dennis, were married on a lake in Marion, Massachusetts. When exchanging vows, Aaron chose to mention how unbearable this year was for all of us - and almost paid for it with his life.

In a video he posted on his Instagram page and filmed by his cousin, the groom is seen saying, "Let's face it, 2020 was not the best year." Seconds later, lightning strikes right behind him, what looks like Mother Earth's revenge. Seeing Dennis' surprised facial expression and after the initial shock subsided, she and the guests began to laugh at the irony.Immediately afterwards it also started to rain, but luckily the bride and groom finished sharing their vows and announcing their marriage before the rain caught them.

I'm thankful today and everyday for family, friends, and most of all this amazing woman. Almost two years down and many more to go. I love you baby.

"Mother Earth has a distorted sense of humor," Aaron wrote next to the video. "Luckily no one got electrocuted and we finished the vows before the rain started!". In an interview with WHDH, Switsky confirmed that he and his wife had planned to get married in June, but were forced to postpone the wedding four times due to the situation. They finally decided to get married on August 22 and agreed that they would not let anything ruin their wedding. "When we set the new wedding date, we said 'no matter what happens we will get married.'
