Hummus-Sana
The members of the Homs Fire Brigade today extinguished several fires that broke out with forest and fruit trees in different areas of the western countryside of Homs.
Colonel Othman Juda, commander of the Homs Fire Brigade, told SANA's correspondent that the regiment’s operations room today received several reports about fires in the Dahr al-Qusayr, Ish al-Shuha village, al-Husn and Anaz in the western countryside of the governorate. They worked to control and isolate it to prevent its spread, and it was extinguished after an effort that lasted several hours, especially since the sites where these fires broke out are all of a rugged mountainous nature.
Juda pointed out that the firefighters are currently dealing with a large forest fire in the village (near Ali) on the administrative borders between Homs, Tartous and Hama, and there is difficulty extinguishing it due to the rugged terrain and the inability of the firefighting mechanisms to reach most of the fire sites.
