In the framework of completing preparations for the new school year, the Damascus Education Directorate started a sterilization and cleaning campaign for its schools today, which included the schools of Abd al-Rahman al-Khazen and Aya Habib in Baramkeh, Damascus, as part of the precautionary measures to address the Corona epidemic.
The campaign aims to secure a healthy, safe and clean environment in classrooms, public facilities and toilets, and to uncover, clean and sterilize drinking water tanks, in addition to school furniture, door handles and others.
In a statement by Lana, Director of Damascus Education, Suleiman Al-Younis, explained the importance of these campaigns, which are continuing in the various schools of the governorate, to provide a healthy, safe and sound environment for students and to reassure parents in a way that contributes to encouraging students' enrollment in their schools.
Al-Younes assured that all schools have been provided with cleaning and sterilization materials to ensure the safety of students and teachers, in coordination with the School Health Department to implement the Ministry's Generalized Health Protocol.
In turn, the head of the readiness department in the Damascus Education Directorate, Talib Talib, stated that the campaign implemented by the Readiness Department and school administrations will be according to time periods and stages according to reality requirements prior to the start of the school year and continues according to a specific mechanism during the school year in order to ensure the safety of students and teaching staff.
On August 23, the Cabinet in charge of conducting business decided to open schools on September 13th, after reviewing the health protocol submitted by the Ministry of Education to address the Corona epidemic during the new school year.
