French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Beirut on Monday evening, August 31, for his second visit to Lebanon since the tragic explosion of August 4.
The French president will try to resolve a deep political crisis and celebrate the first centenary of the proclamation of Greater Lebanon.

The presidential plane landed at Beirut airport at 9:00 p.m. local time (6:00 p.m. GMT), an AFP correspondent noted. During his August 6 visit, Macron pleaded for a new “
political pact
” and urgent reforms, promising to return to “
assess
” the progress made by the authorities, who have been shouted for months by the streets.
