The Libyan Armed Forces General Command confirmed its support for counterterrorism steps, expressing its deep concern about the security chaos and violations sweeping the western regions of Libya.
The Libyan News Agency "Wal" quoted the spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, as saying in a statement today that the leadership supports steps to combat terrorism, extend order and eliminate the causes of chaos that threaten the security and safety of the Libyan people and their country, noting that among those steps are the measures taken to end Armed militias and mercenary squads run by foreign poles and seek to implement their colonial ambitions on Libyan soil.
The statement added that the absence of the Libyan National Army at present in the operations to restore stability in the west of the country does not mean at all that it has left the people facing this fate, but rather that it gives the opportunity to the wise representatives of the tribes and regions in western Libya to work on their own to spread order in those areas, pointing out that The Libyan National Army hopes that these steps will lead to the launch of a successful political process to end the suffering of the Libyan citizen.
Al-Mismari had confirmed during previous statements that the real battle in his country is between the Libyan people and the Turkish invaders, indicating that this regime is trying to extend its control over western Libya completely and is supplying armed terrorist militias to reach the southwest of the country.
Libya has been suffering since the NATO aggression against it in 2011 in a state of chaos and insecurity, in light of the proliferation of weapons and terrorist organizations that are trying to impose their influence and control over various cities and regions, especially in the capital, Tripoli, where the militias of the Government of National Accord supported by the Turkish regime are spread.
