Live broadcast from Netanyahu's statement
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said tonight (Monday) that he had invited a delegation of senior officials from the United Arab Emirates to visit Israel.
In a statement issued by his office in Jerusalem, following the landing of the Israeli-American delegation in the United Arab Emirates on the first commercial flight from Israel, Netanyahu welcomed the normalization of relations between the two countries.
"I'm sure you all thought the same thing and I felt it was a special day, the beginning of a new era in our history," he declared.
Netanyahu said he had asked members of the UAE delegation to work to train the possibility of signing an agreement in Washington as soon as possible.
"Currently, our delegation is discussing the opening of direct airlines, entry visas for Israelis, the opening of missions and cooperation in the matter of the Corona," he explained.
"This is a huge change, it will allow direct and indirect meetings between the citizens of Israel and the citizens of the Emirates."

Netanyahu, tonight
With the landing of the plane in Abu Dhabi, senior adviser to US President Jared Kushner said he hoped it would be the first of many kinds of flights between the countries, making it clear that "I call on everyone to help expand peace in the region. This agreement has a chance to change direction in the Middle East." .
Kushner also referred to the possible deal to sell F-35s to the Emirates, saying that "Israel's qualitative advantage can be maintained and at the same time continue to develop security cooperation."
Kushner's remarks regarding the aircraft deal come after he met, along with National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien, Netanyahu and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz in Jerusalem, and the parties discussed the aircraft deal.
Kushner said that after his meeting with Netanyahu, he is convinced that the prime minister feels confident that President Trump will do whatever it takes to protect Israel and maintain its military advantage in the region.
