Czech Foreign Minister Tomac Petricek confirmed that the European Union will take additional new measures against the officials of the Turkish regime if Ankara does not stop its unilateral actions in the eastern Mediterranean.
Petrczyk said in a statement to Czech Radio today that “the European Union does not rule out imposing sanctions on Turkey because of its exploration work in the Mediterranean,” noting that the leaders of the European Union countries and governments who will meet in mid-September will adopt new steps against Turkey.
Last Friday, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, announced that the EU was preparing sanctions against the Turkish regime that could be discussed at its next summit next month as a way to respond to its violations in the eastern Mediterranean.
