Israel and the United Arab Emirates are now taking another important step on the road to peace.

The announcement of the lifting of the economic boycott of Israel, the existence of the first direct commercial flight from Ben Gurion Airport to the Gulf and the beginning of practical discussions on the realization of peace - all of these indicate that the emirates' leaders Economic cooperation, not just security.

One of the first to benefit from such a move could have been the Palestinians.

But they are not interested in promoting normalization and warm peace, even if these may bring profits and even economic prosperity to Israel and the Palestinians alike.

It is no wonder that the Palestinians accepted the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates with broken cries and rushed to attack the "betrayal" of the Emirates on the Palestinian issue.

But it seems that what worries the Palestinians is not necessarily the very declaration of an agreement, but the fact that most Arab countries were quick to welcome it and express support for it, and some even signaled that they intend to join the journey towards peace soon.

The Palestinians are therefore left alone, and the Arab world - which was supposed to fight their war - is now queuing up to make peace with Israel.

In fact, only Iran and Turkey opposed the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, nor did they do so for the Palestinians, but because they saw the agreement as harming their status in the region, and even challenging their attempt to gain influence and control over the Arab world.

The agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates could have helped the Palestinians advance vital interests for them.

It gives the UAE the ability to act to achieve calm and stability in the region, and even mediate between the parties to reach understandings and agreements between them, which will lead to an improvement in the economic situation and standard of living.

After all, such aid is better than the money that Qatar pours like oil into the bonfire of conflict, and with the help of which it fuels extremism and terrorism.

But the Palestinians are on their own - preferring to stay committed to dreams that will never come true and to anger, disappointment and frustration that will get them nowhere.

It takes courage to make peace.

It's much easier to stay at a dead end and on a dead end.
