Prime Minister Jean Castex called on Tuesday, September 1 to "
close the ban
" on the controversy between his Minister of the Interior and the Minister of the Seals around the use of the word "
insauvagement
" while acknowledging "
a rise in the feeling of 'insecurity
'.

Close the ban: there is no controversy,
" the head of government told the press during a trip to Chateauroux (Indre) on the occasion of the start of the school year.
"
The real subject, however, is that of mobilizing in the face of rising violence and insecurity,
" he replied.
"The question is not the words we use", but the actions
"
The question is not the words that we use to describe the phenomenon, but the actions that we take and that we are going to put in place to face it,
" he added.
"
The Minister of the Interior, like the whole government, indeed notes that there is a rise in the feeling of insecurity and I can tell you the total mobilization of the government to face it
", assured Jean Castex .

On Europe 1, the
Minister of the Interior,
Eric Dupond-Moretti, had previously challenged “
the enslavement of society
” denounced by the right and by the Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, and the Minister for Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa.

", he estimated.
However, “
